Pine Beetles killing trees
Kyle T. Kyle J. Aden K. Brennan B.

Threats to the ecosystem:

It could kill 4 million native trees. This wouldnt be a big deal if the temperatures during the winter months would fall low enough to freeze the beetles. That would keep the population to a minimum. When they move from forest to forest, they move in the millions. So when one comes to a forest, there is a lot more with them. So far in the forest there has been 3 millions acres have already been obliterated.

Importance of the ecosystem:

Its valuable because it is a Colorado product. It supports businesses then which turns to support the economy. Tempers the risk of devastating forest risk also allows for new trees and plants to be established faster which retains soil cover and prevents erosion. So it helps the soil stay together. It also protects our water supply, restores beauty to the mountainsides, and rebuilds the forest. That is many ways how our ecosystem helps.

Conservation plan:

Breed predator birds like mad, such as American robins, Blue Jays, Eastern BlueBirds, Grackles and Black-headed Grosbeaks. The increased amount of the Pine beetles’ predators will diminish them greatly. Another plan to keep the pine beetles from eating trees is to target the nests and destroy the queens from laying bebes out of its egg-sack
